Description
Stoneywood Mill is part of the ArjoWiggins Creative papers
which in turn is part of the Antalis Paper Merchant group. Antalis and
Arjowiggins belong to Sequana Capital which is listed on the French Stock
Exchange. Stoneywood is one of around 20 manufacturing sites situated in
Europe, North and South America and in Asia
Stoneywood was built in 1770 and was one of 5 paper mills in
Aberdeen and is now the last remaining mill.
It manufactures 55000 Tonnes of very High Quality Fine papers and
Industrial Release papers. Stoneywood continuous to be a very profitable mill
and employs 410 people.
The diversity and complexity of products and the continuous
improvement techniques employed ensures that the mill remains competitive in a
global market place and is seen to be leading edge in paper manufacture.
Safety, Quality, Customer Service and innovation supported
by using Lean manufacturing techniques is the culture in which the mill
operates and is constantly finding ways to improve.
The key assets are 4 paper machines and one Duplex Air knife
Coater. These are supported by numerous finishing machines to convert the paper
to whichever format the customer requires.
During the tour visitors will discover the production facilities and techniques used.
No PPE is necessary apart from closed footwear.
