This event has finished

On 29th June 2017 Alstom’s Widnes centre for train modernisation was opened by Lord Prior of Brampton.  In a major boost to the rail industry in the North West, this 13,000 square metre facility is the largest of its type in the UK.  Alstom is starting work on the contract to re-paint the 56-strong fleet of Class 390 Pendolino trains and  Mike Hulme will describe the project to bring the new facility to the North West and provide an outline of the painting programme.

The lecture will be preceded by a tour of Alstom’s new Train Modernisation facility which will commence at 17:00. If intending to join the visit, please aim to arrive on site by 16:45 and bring appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), specifically Safety Shoes and a Hi-Vis Jacket as a minimum. Alstom may be able to provide a limited number of PPE sets
for the site tour but these cannot be guaranteed for all attendees. PPE is not required by those only attending the lecture.
