Welcome to the Republic of Ireland Region

This Site will be used to update you on events and activities being organised by the IMechE Republic of Ireland (RoI) Region. I hope you find an event of interest to you and one that is relatively close to hand!

One objective of this Region is to improve the relevance of events to the members and the distribution of events throughout the Region. Information on the events organised by within the Region can be found in the Events section of this website.

 

The RoI committee of the IMechE is a joint committee with the Mechanical and Manufacturing division of Engineers Ireland. Members of the committee come from different academic and industrial backgrounds. We are happy to have new members on the committee at any time. If you are interested participating just let us know. Equally if you want to present to the region in an area of interest to the members then contact us! We are always looking to promote talks in the areas of Energy Transport Envrionment and Education.

The Young Member Panel (YMP) is also quite active in this region. If you are under 30 years old and would be interested in participating in any of these panels, please contact the current secretary of the YMP or let me know.

    The Institution has a new as part of the inauguration, the incoming President presents an address. There is no prescribed subject for these and Presidents vary in what they choose for a focus, many have a strong autobiographical component, setting out what has influenced them to become engineers, but also what influenced them in their careers. Presidential addresses are published via IMechE website. This year we are delighted to have Carolyn Griffiths,who will present her address "All Change".
