Two events in one !
We will be holding two major events in one in the Ruhr Valley (Datteln).
First we have been kindly invited by EON to see their Datteln energy centre and have a guided tour (in English!) of the site. This is a good opportunity to inform yourselves about the energy choices facing Germany (and other countries) in their efforts to provide a balanced and responsible energy supply for the future.
See their website http://www.kraftwerk-datteln.com/pages/ekw_en/Guided_Tours/Guided_Tours_/index.htm for more information in English or German.
Then we will be holding the founding meeting of the German Branch of the I.Mech.E. (up to now we have operated as a Group which means no committee, no own finances and limited central representation. This limits our activities and our ability to reflect the needs of over 900 I.Mech.E. members of various grades in Germany.)
If you are interested in the future of energy (and who isn’t today?) and in the future of the I.Mech.E, please come and join us.
If you are interested in being a member of, or helping to select, the interim Committee (who will then organise the inaugural a.g.m. where a full, elected committee will be appointed) then please join us or write in expressing your area of interest.
We intend to have a central committee which will include area members from the different parts of Germany who will help propose and run events in their geographical area.
Come along and help us to make the German Branch what you want it to be!
More information on both the foundation meeting and on Datteln can be found on our “Near Your” page of the I.Mech.E. website.
