Welcome to Iceland

Good work has been done on a number of fronts to build on the growing membership in Iceland, most notably via the newly established Formula Student Team formed in collaboration with the University of Iceland. The Engineering industry is strong and thriving in the region, so the potential for membership growth and increased activity throughout the coming months and years is very good.

Goals for the coming year in Iceland

  • Build a solid base of Affiliate Members through the Formula Student team
  • Increase awareness of the Formula Student event at other Universities and higher educational institutions within the region
  • Establish a link with similar Icelandic engineering institutions
  • Raise the profile of the Institution and its goals in the region
In the next few months we will be organising a “kick-off” event for the Formula Student project in co-operation with the University of Iceland - details will be posted here as soon as they are available.

If you are an existing IMechE member based in Iceland, have recently moved to Iceland or currently reside in Iceland and are considering joining the IMechE, we would certainly like to hear from you.

We can only achieve these goals by the active support and participation of the membership base in Iceland - so please get in touch!
