Description

Forensic pathology is a subspecialty of pathology in which we endeavour to address medical issues regarding the cause of death of individuals often due to trauma, but also due to natural diseases and toxins.  We provide reports with the intent that these should be objective reviews of the medical findings which can be used in the legal context.  Our main goals are to determine causes of death, attribute manner of death and discuss mechanisms by which the process has resulted in the death of an individual.  Our highest profile cases are typically homicides which enter into the criminal justice system. Working collaboratively, especially in workplace injuries, often results in exposure to other professionals including engineers.
