We are the Lincolnshire Area Committee of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

‘Our aim is to encourage young people to become engineers of the future and support the further development of young and mature engineers, through the promotion of engineering across the Lincolnshire area.’

We are a group of Mechanical Engineers working as part of the volunteer network of the IMechE, developing and hosting engineering related events across the Lincolnshire Area.

In recent years we have joined forces with the Lincolnshire Area of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) to promote engineering and organise events under the banner of ‘The Lincolnshire Engineers’ Panel’ (LEP).

We meet generally on a monthly basis from September to June at the Engineering Hub Building, Lincoln University. Due to the geographic size of Lincolnshire we are considering setting up a ‘virtual’ Committee. We discuss and formulate events and visits that run throughout the year. The lectures / events range from general engineering interest to specific technical subjects and are generally held one each month.  Lectures / events have covered topics such as Energy, Environment, Transport, Manufacturing, Sport and Medical.

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our group to help in the promotion of engineering across the Lincolnshire Area. If you would like to join us or explore what we do further, please contact us.
