Description

Professor Colin Garner FREng PhD from Loughborough University will give two presentations on a theme entitled “Cool Engine Research”:

1.       Insights into Cold-Start Direct Injection Spark Ignition Combustion in an Optical Engine Operating at −7°C

2.       The Liquid Nitrogen Engine: Why is Having a Tank of Cold Liquid at -196°C Interesting for Mobile Applications?

Following the presentations, there will be time for open questions and discussion covering wider aspects of future engines and vehicle propulsion systems

Professor Colin Garner PhD. holds the Caterpillar/Royal Academy of Engineering Chair in Applied Thermodynamics and is the Research Director of the Caterpillar Innovation and Research Centre at Loughborough University.
