Promoted as the world’s most powerful motorsport, tractor pulling is an alternative motorsport that evolved in the USA during the 1930’s to test the pulling power of farm tractors. There are now tractor pulling organisations worldwide promoting and sanctioning events with competing classes ranging from “garden” tractors all the way up to 10,000 hp modified tractors that show little resemblance to a farm tractor.

The talk will provide a brief overview of the sport, its beginnings and the competing classes. Wayne will then talk in more detail on what it takes to squeeze 1500hp out of a 7.6 litre 6 cylinder John Deere tractor engine that started life at 130hp and the changes required to the tractor, a John Deere 4230 to compete in the Pro-Stock Class.
