Welcome to the North Herts Area

Dear fellow engineers,

I write this mid way through the 2011-2012 season and hope therefore that many of you have been able to participate in the programme of events that your committee have worked hard to provide. Unfortunately we were forced to cancel our most recent event due to the sudden unavailability of the speaker – these events after all are often presented by engineers just like you or I; sharing experiences which are of interest to a wider audience; and who are therefore subject to the same pressures that we all face in this harsh economic environment.

I am pleased to say that our future programme remains intact and covers a fascinating and diverse range of subjects: CHP,  aircraft carriers and landscaping. I would urge you all to re-visit our programme card and consider whether these events may warrant an evening spent with fellow engineers and friends in a convivial and informative environment.

In order to help us maximise the level of interest in future events and minimise the inconvenience associated with attending them we have surveyed the membership of the North Herts Area. Whilst the output from this survey continues to inform our approach to events, as a committee we remain open to advice and guidance from our ‘customers’. Please therefore feel free to contact myself or any member of the committee if you have a suggestion for a future event or venue – whilst we can’t guarantee to act on every suggestion received rest assured that all feedback is reviewed at our committee meetings.

Finally, if any of you would like to become more closely involved in the work of the committee please again feel free to contact any of the existing committee members.
