Welcome to the Eastern Region Autumn 2018

Dear Members and visitors to this page,

In September the Eastern Region held the ‘New Members Welcome’ Event at the Imperial War Museum Duxford where new members were welcomed by the Chief Executive, Colin Brown. Colin gave a warm welcome and presentation stating his confidence in the future of our Institution. This was followed by the guest speaker, Captain David Rowland whose expert and insightful history of the Concorde, how it came into being, its development and service was enjoyed by all those present. At the end of his talk the future of supersonic aircraft was discussed followed by questions from the floor.  Later, after the buffet, members were able to enter the museum gallery and walk through the fuselage of the Concorde. Pictures, courtesy of pb photographic, can be viewed on dropbox with the following link:

Next year the Eastern Region is planning a similar event. It should be noted that all existing members are welcome to attend, not just the new members. Please accept my apologies for any members having difficulty using the on line booking system; we will be working with the IT department at HQ to avoid a repetition.
