Welcome to the Eastern Region Spring 2019

Dear Members and visitors to this page,

In issue 1, 2019 of Professional Engineering Magazine Colin Brown our interim CEO calls upon the Institution to ‘Redouble our efforts to improve our two way communication with our membership’. In a similar vein Tony Roche the Institution president says ‘The Institution has actively sought members’ views’.

To this end the Eastern Region has reactivated our facebook and Twitter accounts. Whilst social media platforms have suffered some poor publicity of late, notably Instagram, when used wisely they are powerful tools for multiway communication. These accounts are intended for use by all areas, panels and members in the Region. Feedback on talks and events you have enjoyed or not, follow on thoughts on the subject matter of the talk and communication about the goings on at HQ are all valid topics. Of course, as professionals, I would expect such exchanges to be constructive, also I am not a believer that all opinions are equally valid, the earth is not flat!

In May there are elections both a HQ and at Area levels so this is an excellent opportunity to volunteer for your area committee.
