Description

Cambridge Rock Festival is Cambridge’s premier music event for classic rock, blues and prog rock (and a bit of everything else). The family-run festival is over four days from the evening of Thursday 26 July to Sunday 29 July, in the grounds of Horseheath Lodge, Horseheath, Cambs, near Linton.

We have arranged an exclusive backstage tour for engineers on Thursday 26 July. We also have special prices on tickets, so have a beer and enjoy the music!

Cambridge Rock Festival's 14th event will have around 75 bands appearing on three fully covered stages in the beautiful setting of Horseheath Lodge Estate. Bars sell 80 real ales and ciders, with food vendors, traders and an arts and crafts marquee.

The event is on a green field site and all services have to be set up specially, including power generation and water distribution, as well as perimeter fencing, lighting, signage, campsite, toilets and showers, and road matting, not to mention the marquees, stages, gantries, state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems, fire and safety equipment, bars and cellar refrigeration, an extensive backstage hospitality area for the acts, and facilities for the large team of professional and volunteer technicians and stewards. As an engineering project, organising an event on this scale is a complex operation that has to be seen to be appreciated.
