We have arranged a site visit to the AmeyCespa Waste Management facility in Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire, which provides a comprehensive and innovative approach to sustainable waste management, including recycling, composting and energy recovery. The company is making further investments in a new recycling facility to open later this year that will be able to process 100,000 tonnes of recyclable materials per year. More details can be found at www.ameycespa.com
The site visit will include a tour of the facility to see the MBT (Mechanical Biological Treatment) plant, the composting areas, recycling operations and (depending on the weather) the landfill site.
This is an afternoon event, from 3pm to 5pm, and people will need to make their own way to the facility for a prompt 3pm start.
The number of visitors is limited to 16. Booking is strictly required and preference will be given to IMechE members on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Due to the high-risk nature of the facility, this visit is only open to adults. A copy of the Risk Assessment can be downloaded from tinyurl.com/6nkfeqa
The visit is now fully booked, but if you would like to be put on the 'wait list' to join the visit should any places become available, please send your name and IMechE membership number to Daniel Aldridge at firstname.lastname@example.org.
