Description

NO FURTHER BOOKINGS ARE BEING TAKEN FOR THIS EVENT
This luncheon meeting will be held in the Croydon & District Masonic Halls on Friday 28th September. Assemble from 12.00 noon for a 12.30 pm lunch. Following lunch there will be a presentation by Saby Ghosh on the History of Fraser & Chalmers.

In his presentation Saby will touch on the early days of Erith as a place in history before Fraser & Chalmers set up their factory in Erith. He will cover the sort of work they did and how the company developed and declined.

It is just over 30 years since the IMechE, Greater London Region, Southern Area (now South East Area) set up the "Luncheon Club". There have been many speakers over the years covering a wide range of topics. To recognise the longstanding nature of the "club" it has been agreed that the charge for this lunch will be closer to the price charged for the lunches 30 years ago.
The charge will therefore be £12 per person which includes wine.
Booking and pre-payment for the lunch is essential. Please contact Malcolm Saunders via the "send a message" link at the bottom of the page for details of how to pay.

The Croydon and District Masonic Halls are close to West Croydon railway station, bus station and tram stop.
Parking is available in the Halls car park in nearby Stanton Road (CR0 2UN)

Speaker(s)

Saby Ghosh joined Fraser & Chalmers in 1960 as a Student Apprentice and subsequently worked as a Design Engineer until 1977 when he moved into the Petrochemical Industry.
