The UAS Challenge (Unmanned Aircraft Systems Challenge) is our leading annual student competition in the aerospace sector. This year the event will culminate in the Fly Off at the Llanbedr Aerospace Centre over 3 days.

As part of this important event in our calendar, our Education team have arranged a STEM activity involving local secondary schools in the Harlech and adjoining area. Activities will include some competition activities, a tour of the workshops to see the UAS students preparing their flights as well as witness the flying displays.

We need volunteers from our Region to support the STEM activities on June 19th when up to 60 schoolchildren will visit the centre.

In addition, an art competition and a short story competition has been circulated to local schools with the winners being acknowledged in a prize-giving ceremony on June 19th at the centre. Some help with judging this competition would also be appreciated.

Anyone interested should register on the IMechE website, providing contact details and confirming whether you are (or not) a STEM Ambassador.

Registrants will receive joining instructions and activity details.

Lunch will be provided and any travel expenses reimbursed.
