The electric superbike recently constructed at The University of Nottingham is considered to be a high performance vehicle, competing with its internal combustion engine driven counterparts. The team has won two back to back European Championship and finished third at the Isle of Man TT series, setting new standards for electric racing vehicles, particularly those manufactured by Universities.

This talk gives an overall review on the project, and also presents pertinent design decisions taken to maximise the vehicle’s performance in race conditions, along with modelling undertaken to gain an insight into the system interaction as a whole. Readings recorded from races are presented to support the described simulation work, which is currently being used to design the 2017 season machines.
