Description

The astrophysics group at Keele University have used the WASP-South instrument in South Africa to discover more than 100 planets orbiting stars beyond our solar system, including some of the most extreme planets known. Dr.Pierre Maxted will give an insight into the discoveries made with this autonomous remote observatory and the challenges that had to be overcome so that this instrument could be successfully operated from a site 6000 miles from Keele.
This event is organised by the Stoke-on-Trent Association of Engineers.
