26 November 2019 18:00 - 20:00
This event has finished

Following an introduction to WES and some of the WES Centenary role models, Jennifer Glover will describe her journey into engineering and research.

Jet engine noise cancellation is the focus of her ongoing PhD, specifically the use of a metamaterial – a material with an unnaturally modified structure – to enhance engine liners’ noise-reducing properties.

Jennifer is also a STEM Ambassador and finds volunteering in schools one of the most rewarding aspects of being an engineer.

Refreshments will be served from 18:00; the talk will start at 18:30.
