The North East Rail Division Centre’s aim is to provide a relaxed informative forum which enables people to keep abreast of developments within the Rail Industry, expand their network of contacts and explore new interests.
To achieve this, the North East Rail Division Centre organises a varied range of events including presentations, papers, lectures and discussion forums. Our events include a wide variety of topics including local, national and international developments. These events are always of interest and where possible hot off the press and topical.
Our events are open to all – not just people in the Railway Industry.
Last season's exciting topics included: “Update on Rolling Contact Fatigue”, “Gauge changing bogies in Spain” and a discussion on the “Future of High Speed Rail in the UK”
Our events rotate around the three cities of York, Doncaster, Leeds. This is to try and give as many people as possible the opportunity to attend.
Our events generally start at 18:30 with refreshments available from 18:00. Note that this is not always the case but any change will be noted on our website and promotional material.
Events are held in the second week of the month (September to April) on either a Tuesday or Wednesday. Again this is to give as many people as possible the opportunity to attend.
The North Eastern Centre committee consists of a mixture of working and retired people from different areas across the Rail Industry. We all have one common passion – to share and drive the engineering developments within the Railway Industry.
