Chief Executive Officer – Agility Trains Ltd. (temporary). Previously: Managing Director - Hitachi Rail Europe Ltd.
Alistair is acting Chief Executive Officer for Agility Trains Ltd., the bidding consortium formed to bid for and deliver the Intercity
Express Programme (IEP) for the UK. In this role, he will continue to drive forward IEP.
Alistair has been seconded from Hitachi Rail Europe Ltd., where he previously held the position of Managing Director.
Hitachi Rail Europe Ltd is part of the Hitachi Ltd group of companies. Alistair was responsible for successfully delivering the
Hitachi Class 395 train into UK service, on time and to budget, for the Class 465 traction replacement project and for further
increasing Hitachi’s railway business within Europe.
Alistair joined Hitachi in 2003, initially leading the company’s efforts to secure market entry with the Class 395 contract and more

recently leading the bid for the Intercity Express Programme (Super Express).
