Description

As part of the Great North Engineering Experience, and inspired by the Great Exhibition of the North, we are organising an electric car build event at the Mining Institute in Newcastle. Three local schools will be in attendance and over the weekend of June 23 and 24 they will each build a complete car to running level with body work. They will then take the car away for trials ahead of the July 5 race event at Newcastle (see separate posting for that event)
The event will be open to the public from 10 am to 3 pm each day.  No registration for the event is required, you can just turn up, but if you can register it will help us.
Also we are seeking volunteers to help coach the building of the cars and work with the school teams. Each school will bring up to 6 Year 5/6 ( ages 9 to 11) students to work on the project. All tools will be provided on the day.
Please contact Mike Lambert on ttadchair@imechenearyou.org if interested to volunteer.
