    North Of England Institute of Mining & Mechanical Engineers - Newcastle Upon Tyne
    As part of the 'Great Northern Engineering Experience' Michael Taylor will tell the story of the various bridge crossing points of the River Tyne. This talk will be of interest to engineers and non engineers alike and young people of all ages.

    Spillers Wharf - Newcastle
    This is a Primary school Greenpower Goblins electric race car event. The schools have ran projects to build a racing car ahead of this event on July 5. We expect over 50 schools to attend. The event is open to the public, and is part of the Great Exhibition of the North program. Registration is not required for this event. We are also seeking volunteers for both the July 4 preparation day and the July 5 race day

    The Sage - Gateshead
    Five schools will each build a Greenpower Goblin electric car at this event, and also complete the bodywork. The event is open to the public and also volunteers are requested to help coach the children to build the cars from a manual based instruction. No registration is required for this event

    Croft Circuit
    Volunteers are required to support the Greenpower Education Trust event at the Croft Circuit track near Darlington. We expect 20 to 30 Primary schools from the region will participate for Goblins event, and 20 or so schools nationally for the F24 and F24+ events. Roles for the volunteers including helping to set up and associated logistics, marshalling and scrutineering for safety, helping run the races and judging for various categories on the day.

    To celebrate Women in Engineering Day, the Tyne & Wear IMechE Young Members Panel are hosting a speakers’ event to learn more about the varied roles and opportunities for female engineers in the North East. This should be an inspiring event for anyone either working in or considering a career in engineering. This event is aimed at GCSE and sixth form students, college and university students, young professionals or anyone who wants to celebrate Women in Engineering Day.
