    The North of England Institute of Mining and Mechanical Engineers
    Newcastle University delivers a joint BEng (Hons) programme in Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Engineering in collaboration with the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). One challenge faced by the academics developing the taught curriculum is accreditation: not only does the degree programme have to satisfy the Engineering Council's UK-SPEC for IMechE accreditation; but it also has to meet the requirements of the Singapore Institution of Engineers.
