Annual Dinner 2015

The North East Region of the Institution held their 2015 Annual Dinner at Hardwick Hall on Friday 17th April.

Our major sponsor British Engines entertained their guests at 17 corporate tables alongside institution members and guests. It was very pleasing to see 30 new members and fellows receive their certificates of achievement from President Elect Richard Folkson.

The 250 diners were entertained by speeches from Kate Bellingham - former Tomorrow's World presenter and Andy Garthwaite, ABF Charity.

We look forward to welcoming back our sponsors, and even more members, to next year’s event.

Message from Major Barney Barnbrook, Regional Director North East & Yorkshire, ABF The Soldiers' Charity
I now have a final total for Friday night – a staggering £3560.60! This includes the raffle (£990.00) and a Gift Aid total of £514.00.
Thanks to all of you for allowing us to be part of the evening; not only was it a hugely beneficial night, it was also a really enjoyable evening!
We now have a few hundred Gift Aid envelopes to process........

Message from Mark Jackson, Chairman North East Region, Institution of Mechanical Engineers

Thank you for your generosity at our Regional Dinner on 17th April. On the night I mentioned the opportunities that exist for supporting Engineering in the North East. Obviously we are always on the lookout for people to get involved in helping to organise activities and working on the committees but please look at the other activities that we are involved in and ask yourself, “Could I spare a few hours to help?”

Someone said that if we all swept the area outside our own door the whole world would be clean. Lets get our brushes out and start making a difference!
