The talk will comprise of an introduction to organic materials and photovoltaics involved in solar power, a review of a few applications (organic displays, organic diodes etc), focus on organic photovoltaics (OPVs), what makes OPVs more attractive compared to silicon photovoltaics and what is the future potential of OPVs.

Dr Theodoros Papadopoulos will also play a few short videos to show examples in action.

6pm for refreshments at the Senate House reception in Bolton Unversity followed by the lecture at 6.30pm in the Deane Suite Lecture Theatre F2-008.

Dr Theodoros Papadopoulos received his PhD in 2007 from Lancaster University, in molecular electronics. He has since worked in organic opto-electronics and photovoltics at the University of Bath, Georgia Tech and the University of Liège and joined the University of Bolton in Sept 13.
