Description

Join us at this talk at Lakes College West Cumbria, where West Cumbria Mining will give a presentation on their plans to invest in a metallurgical coal mine off the coast of Whitehaven. The plan is to supply the European steel-making coal market. which currently imports around 45 million tonnes of coal per annual from outside Europe.

Cumbria is an area rich in mining history and experience and we will be looking to harness this knowledge in a modern mine, which will have the benefits of first class levels of health and safety as well as a cleaner and more pleasant environment than the previous mines of Cumbria’s history.

This talk is free, but booking is essential.

Complementary refreshments (tea/coffee/biscuits) will be available from the start of registration at 18:30hrs.
