    Those of us using trains in the north of England will be familiar with the 1980's vintage diesel rolling stock fleet, including the so-called Pacers and Sprinters. Following the delivery of new and refurbished trains the Pacers will be entirely phased out. Ian Hyde will take us through Northern’s fleet upgrade strategy and update us on progress so far.

    The evening will start with the AGM. After light refreshments the evening will continue with a guided tour or the New Engineering Building and its facilities by Professor George Aggidis Professor of Energy Engineering at the University and members of the North Lancashire Young Members panel. During the tour we will be introduced to the Formula Student team and the Design Challenge Team who will give a brief review of their work. Following the tour the formalities of the AGM will begin.
