Process Safety is a framework for prevention and control of catastrophic accidents and near misses involving toxic effects, fires or explosion which could result in serious injuries, asset damage, lost production and environmental impact, by utilising good design principles, engineering and operating practices, requiring engineering and management input beyond that used for managing workplace safety.

Joe will identify the legislation requiring application of these principles and expand on the principles by explaining the methodologies utilised to implement them.

The methodologies explained will include; Functional Safety (SIF, SIS & SIL), HAZOP, LOPA and the associated Safety Lifecycle.

Light refreshments will be served from 6pm, proceedings commencing at 6:30pm.

Joe Morgan is a Chemical Engineer with experience in the chemical, oil & gas as well as a variety of other industries but for the past 5 years he has been specialising in Process Safety Engineering, currently working for Project Design Engineers
