2015 / 2016 PROGRAMME

We hope you will find our 2015/16 programme to be varied topical and relevant. Much of it concerns continuing developments on Scotland's railways: new Edinburgh to Glasgow EMUs, new Sleeper train; the work in Winchburgh Tunnel and new rolling stock & signalling for the Glasgow Subway where we also have a technical visit.

Phil Verster, Alliance Managing Director for Scotland is giving a keynote address which is a must for anyone interested in today's railways as is our Chairman's address when Chris Kinchin-Smith will explain the opportunities and challenges presented by the large growth in UK rail passenger demand.

Constructing the P2 steam locomotive is a more traditional topic and the Developing Professionals presentation competition is a great way of developing young railway professionals. It always provides a wide range of interesting presentations.

If have a technical interest in railways and are in Scotland, do come to our events. We encourage active participation and would be glad to hear your ideas. Our events also provide an excellent opportunity to chat informally to presenters and network with colleagues from a wide range of engineering companies.

Please contact rdscotland@imechenetwork.org if wish to be on our mailing list. We would be glad to hear from you.
