More than a decade of research and development in marine energy has failed to result in a technology upon which we can base a marine renewables industry. Floating tidal is the idea that will make marine energy a global industry. Scotrenewables floating tidal prototype has generated 3GWh in a year, the most by any single tidal device in the world, and the company has a plan for the next generation of floating tidal turbines which will bring tidal energy costs in line with those of offshore wind.
