    To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the closure of the Prototype Fast Reactor at Dounreay, Colin, a former Chief Technologist on the site, will present his talk. The talk will discuss why the UK embarked on a fast reactor programme and highlights the reasons why eventually the programme was abandoned. Against this background, the talk presents a summary of the technical achievements and lessons learnt from the operation of the UK fast reactor fuel cycle.
