Welcome to the Sussex and Surrey Area

The Sussex and Surrey Area has a vibrant organisation which promotes many events, liaises with local engineering companies and encourages young engineers to participate in the Institution’s future.The events consist of seminars and talks related to engineering topics of current interest, with some emphasis on the key themes of energy, environment, education and transport.

The Area has contact with other engineering Institutions and has many joint events with them. Details of these events are in the joint printed Programme Booklet for 2012/13* which will be despatched to members early September.The prospect for engineers to shape the future of our environment has not looked brighter for a long time. This opportunity must be used by all and one way is actively to support the Area events.

A Note from our Chairman - 10th October 2012

Dear Member

It has become apparent there was a problem with the distribution of this year’s (2012-2013) events booklet to members of the South Eastern region.

I do not know who received the booklet with their PE magazine, the distribution appears to be quite random.

I have several spare copies of the booklet and if you did not receive a copy with your PE I can send you a copy.

If you could send me your address I will mail it to you.

I must apologise on behalf of the Institution about this and hope you will be able to attend some of our events this year.
