A chance discovery by railway enthusiasts in 1986 of a locomotive boiler being used to supply heat in a woodworking factory in Maldon, Essex, has culminated in the final stages of building a complete working steam engine at the Bluebell Railway. An account of the engineering difficulties encountered will be outlined, together with the latest news on what will be a £1million locomotive. New technology being used to enhance the construction of a once extinct LBSCR Class H2 Atlantic, No. 32424 ‘Beachy Head’ will be described as well as the ongoing work needed to complete the project. Prior registration is required to the contact below for this visit. Bluebell Railway site entry charge of £4 per person will be payable on the day which also covers tea/coffee. Contact
