This event has finished

Watchkeeper is the next generation Tactical Unmanned Air System that provides intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR) for the UK Armed Forces.   The air vehicle has a mass of around 450 kg, powered by a rotary Wankel engine.  The system provides a dual payload capability with a Day Night Camera Laser sub subsystem and a Synthetic Aperture and Ground Moving Target Indicator Radar.  The information is distributed and communicated to Ground Control Stations and Remote Viewing Terminal providing battlefield situation awareness.    The Watchkeeper System has seen operational deployment in Afghanistan and other overseas training locations. Nick Miller will describe the Watchkeeper system,  the various technologies that it embodies, the product it outputs and an insight into the Future of Unmanned Systems.

This is a joint lecture with IET and RAeS Farnborough.
This lecture will be popular and hence pre booking is compulsory.

Venue will be open from 19:00.  We are in the Austin Pearce Building.  See 'Event Locations' tab for a map.
