Net Energy Analysis (NEA) provides valuable information of the effectiveness of exploiting stocks and flows of primary energy resources (e.g., fossil fuels, solar energy, etc.) and upgrading them into usable energy carriers (such as liquid fuels and electricity). This talk will explain the fundamentals of NEA and show how metrics such as EROI are derived and what they signify.
