Description

AB Poster 2013 - Climate Change

The science of climate change predicts global warming of several °C by 2100. While global total emissions eventually need to be reduced by at least a factor of 4, global population growth and industrial growth by the developing nations will mean that we probably need to reduce emissions per unit of GDP by a factor of forty. Can science and technology provide the solutions necessary for this kind of reduction?

The Annual Arnold Barks Christmas lecture and Reception is this year to be given by Professor John Shepherd CBE FRS, a Professorial Research Fellow at the National Oceanographic Centre, University of Southampton and a foremost authority on the science of Climate Change. He will be leading a team of scientists who will lecture to nearly 1200 school children in the Salisbury area during the day followed by his evening presentation.

Tickets £10. Non-members welcomed.

Bookings for the Arnold Barks lecture will this year be taken through the following booking form. Payment may be made by cheque or by BACS payment to Mark Carter (contact information below). Please click on the following link to access the booking form and payment instructions:
