Welcome to the Wessex Region

This site will provide information on events and activities being organised by the IMechE Wessex Area.  I hope you find something of interest in your area and if you need any further information please contact one of the committee members.

Welcome to the web pages that cover the activities organised for you, the membership, by the volunteer members in the Wessex Region. Our lecture and visits programme is organised by the Area committees located in Dorchester, Bournemouth, Southampton, Salisbury and Portsmouth & IOW. Please search the Events pages and select events that you may wish to attend. If you need to contact committee members, please follow the e-mail links on the Contacts pages. Perhaps you can help us by providing a talk or organising a visit to an interesting venue yourself, or perhaps you can recommend a suitable speaker? We also support actvities in schools that aim to promote STEM subjects, such as our "Year in 2050" events and the annual Arnold Barks Memorial Christmas Lectures which are held in Salisbury every December. Funds are provided from your membership fees through the Institution's Regional Strategy Board to support events in your Area, so its in your interest to get involved and to take advantage of making contact with other members who may be able to assist you with your professional development programme and support you with applications for higher grades of membership.

I look forward to meeting you at future events in the Region over the coming months.

Nick Schulkins

Wessex Chairman
