On 24th June 1982 a British Airways 747 flew into a cloud of volcanic ash, resulting in the failure of all four engines. Despite the lack of time Captain Eric Moody announced to the passengers "Ladies and gentlemen, this is your Captain speaking. We have a small problem. All four engines have stopped.
