Welcome to the Portsmouth and Isle of Wight Area

Part of the Wessex Region, we pride ourselves on supporting the interests of our members.

This Year 2017/2018 your area committee is putting together an exciting programme of events for you. Additionally thanks to a small group of committee members on the IOW, we are looking to run a number of events - lectures and visits - on the island in addition to those on the mainland.

These events are great opportunities for Continued Professional Development, and for Professional and Social Networking. You are encouraged to come to as many as you can and to bring colleagues and friends, as our events which promote engineering are open to all. Please take to time to read what exciting things we are proposing and hopefully book those which interest you most.

Our programme will have events which will cover all the IMechE’s themes, as we want there to be “something for everybody”. However this year we are going to particularly focus on 2 interlocked themes which affect us all as individuals as well as in our Jobs – Energy and the Environment.
