    The Institution of Mechanical Engineers Devon & Cornwall Area Committee would like to invite you to a technical visit of Langage Power Station. Rated at 895MW, it is one of the most efficient gas-fired power generators of its type in the world. This two part event will start with a presentation about the company, followed by a tour of Langage Power Station with Centrica Engineers.

    Colin Froude (Squadron Leader, Royal Air Force Retd) will talk about the challenges associated with testing large aircraft. Drawing on his flying experience, Colin will describe the origins of the Heavy Aircraft Test and Evaluation Squadron which is based at Boscombe Down. Colin will also discuss the Squadron’s roles which include testing modifications, R&D work and Met Research Flights.
