Yet due to poor practices in harvesting, storage and transportation, as well as market and consumer waste, it is estimated that 30–50% of all food produced never reaches a human stomach. Dr Tim Fox will consider what engineers, governments, and businesses need to prioritise to reduce food wastage in the developing economies of the world and thereby help underpin international food security.
