Description

This tour provides an interesting insight into one of Europe's largest coal-fired power stations. Commissioned in 1973, Fiddlers Ferry is capable of generating some 1,989 Mega Watts of electricity, consuming 195 million litres of water daily from the near by River Mersey. Over the years the power station has evolved with new technologies to produce low-cost electricity while ensuring the highest standards of safety.
