Description

IMechE Aerospace North West invite you to this lecture covering historical background from a German project in WW2, to the very ambitious and so nearly successful Rotodyne. The concept is now re-emerging as a way ahead beyond the speeds that limit conventional helicopters. The Fairey Rotodyne had its first flight in 1957, but was cancelled in 1962. This lecture is 50 years after the cancellation of the Rotodyne Project.
