British Thomson-Houston (B T-H) was a British engineering and heavy industrial company based in Rugby. In mid 1920s they merged with other organisations that fell under the holding company Associated Electrical Industries Ltd (AIE).
The talk will cover formation of BT-H and the development of the BT-H/AEI works in Rugby up to its takeover by GEC in the late 1960's.

The Wolverhampton YMP are proudly hosting the first annual sports varsity between the Wolverhampton, Birmingham and Stafforshire YMP's. Speak Out For Engineering is a chance for young engineers to practice and demonstrate vital presentation skills in competition with one another for prizes of £300 & £200, with a 3rd place prize of £50 sponsored by Siemens VAI.

The Speak Out For Engineering Papers Competition is for Affiliate and Associate Members and those members who have been registered for less than 10 years. It is aimed at promoting the ability to communicate engineering subjects effectively.
There are cash prizes for the winner and runner up (£200 and £100 respectively) in the Regional heat of the competition, with the winner representing the Region at the National finals.
