This event will provide delegates with an indepth insight into the workings of a modern day power station. Delegates will have the opportunity to view aspects of the power generation process such as the coal plant, Ash lagoons, Rocktron Plant, Biomass storage, Turbine hall, Flue Gas Desulphurisation, control room, amongst numerous others. A minibus will be provided to transport delegates around the plant as they cover each stage of the process from fuel to electricity and will gain an insight

The UK rail industry is currently rolling out a new secure communications system to the UK rail network.
GSM-R forms the voice element of this network and will deliver an inter-operable replacement for both NRN and CSR.
The presentation will review the history of the GSM-R project to date, from the initial system development through the Strathclyde trial to the current national roll out of the GSM-R network and equipped rolling stock.
