Description

The application of arbitration and mediation has widely increased in local Engineering Industry. With a well-defined law system, Hong Kong provides the ideal venue for speedy and reliable dispute resolution when contract conflicts arise.

This evening seminar, will explore the role of Engineers in Construction Disputes, Dispute Avoidance, Arbitration and Mediation. Arbitration is a binding form of dispute resolution. It is one of the best methods of dispute resolution outside the courts. It is a resolution technique in which a third party reviews the evidence in the case and imposes a decision that is legally binding for both sides and enforceable.

Mediation is a non-binding form of dispute resolution that works well for minor disputes. The mediator acts as a neutral third party and facilitates rather than directs the process. Mediation would help to settle the dispute with its positive outcomes in facilitating a more efficient, expeditious and fair disposal of disputes.

Participants are also invited to listen to the experiences of key professionals actively involved in Arbitration & Mediation and the routes to Arbitrator.
