Britain is a pioneering country in nuclear power having the first commercial nuclear power station in the world. However, her creative initiative on application of the innovative gas-cooled reactor technology for nuclear power generation has encountered numerous unique challenges during its path of development in the past seven decades. This seminar attempts to offer the rationale of using gas-cooled reactor technology, and highlight some of the challenges and how they have been resolved.
