Efficiency electricity generation is becoming the world trend for controlling carbon footprint nowadays.  As large scale renewable or oxy-fuel sources is not yet readily available, using natural gas in highly efficient combined cycle gas turbine units are the currently trend for generation, in particular for modern society like Hong Kong, Singapore and some European countries.  IMechE Hong Kong Branch would like to arrange a mini-seminar to introduce the latest combined cycle gas turbine technology and introduce you the trend of efficient generation in Hong Kong.

The contents of seminar include:
1. Type of power generation
2. Hong Kong energy vision
3. Gas turbine technology
4. Comparison of Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) and conventional coal-fired units
5. Development of CCGT units in Hong Kong
6. New natural gas sources and introduction of liquified natural gas
7. Development of floating storage regasification unit
8. Future trend of gas turbine industry
