Welcome to the Victoria Panel

The Victoria Panel is committed to supporting its members by promoting mechanical engineering and the IMechE.

The panel has three key areas through which it wants to provide both value and engagement:

  1. Technical Lectures and Visits
  2. Social Networking
  3. Activities for Young Members

The Victorian Panel has as its committee Roshan Dodanwela as Chair, Paul Draper as Treasurer and Nic Coulthard as Secretary. From time to time, vacant positions will arise for general committee members- see the contact us page for more details and get in touch if you are interested.

Victoria - Young Members

The Victorian Young Members are a focus area for the new committee, and several events will be run for the Young Members. Nisha Nijhar, the Young Member representative, liaises with volunteers, university liaisons and ambassadors to help further support the Young Members and help organise events.

The Australian Young Members have two social media streams for current news and information, please check out their Facebook and Twitter pages.

Look Out For:

Speak Out for Engineering: The IMechE engineering presentation competition runs each September in Melbourne. There is a cash prize for 1st and 2nd place, and the victor will represent Victoria at the national final! A ten to twenty minute long presentation is all that is required. The focus is mainly on the delivery of the presentation rather than technical content. 1st years undergraduates to Young Members in work are welcome to enter.

Soft skills and networking: Development sessions and networking events for students at Melbourne's universities are advertised via our events page.
