Victorian Panel Speak Out for Engineering Competition.
This annual competition is for Students studying Mechanical Engineering Degree Courses at Universities on campuses within Australia and young practising Engineers. The competition is specifically concerned with verbal and visual communication in describing and explaining technical subjects. It is also designed to promote interest in the art of communication.
This Victorian Competition selects the state winner to go forward to the Australian, and possibly the regional competition. Participants will give an oral presentation the duration of which must not exceed 20 minutes followed by 10 minutes for discussion and questions from the panel of judges and audience. The Judging Panel will include I.Mech.E. Panel Members. Winners will be announced on the evening.
Presentations will cover topics as outlined below:
- Prediction of Evacuation Times from Railway Vehicles
- Development of Engines for Experimental Aircraft
- Use of Data from quantitative gait analysis to determine muscle forces and joint reactions to design surgical interventions for patients with impairments
- Plus other interesting topics
This is a great opportunity to network with other Engineers, and to support and encourage young engineers to participate in the activities of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.
