Description
Eco car development for racing by Muhammad Subhan bin Muhammad Moizuddin

Lightening the Load : The NUS Eco-Car Experience by Prof Ian Gibson
Ian will tell us about how the Shell Eco-marathon is a competition where contestants build vehicles that can go as far as possible on as little fuel as possible. There are 2 major vehicle categories and NUS have had significant success building cars in the Urban Concept class. A minimum height, 4 wheels, all-round brakes, a stop-start racing strategy and other requirements make this a significant challenge to mechanical engineers and the most obvious solution is to lighten the overall vehicle weight. This talk will discuss how the various eco-cars built by NUS students for this competition have dealt with this problem using a variety of innovative approaches.
